Back Spasms

The origins of back spasms are diverse, but it is clear that they are often a response to an injury or inflammation of the spinal region. Usually, spasms prey on the muscles in the lower back, rather than the upper regions of the torso. If you are the Back Spasms sufferer then touch your muscles of their lower back, and you will find the hard, contracted muscles, not soft, weak, flabby muscles.

Unless you have had a violent accident, your back pain, whether sudden or chronic, has been coming for a very long time. In many cases, the muscles of the back themselves are injured or inflamed, but the spine itself, including the thin cartilaginous discs between the spinal vertebrae and the ligaments which connect the vertebrae, may also be the source of the difficulty. Some chiropractors believe that spasms are a reaction by which the body attempts to immobilise the spine and thus prevent further injury.

Any great force can tear the muscles and tendons of the lower back. This occurs commonly in sports like weight lifting, football, basketball, baseball or golf that require pushing or pulling or sudden twisting of the back.

The risk of back spasm goes up if you have:

  • Any back weakness such as arthritis, spondylolysis, spondylolisthesis, disk rupture, spinal stenosis or a tumor
  • Lordosis
  • Tight hamstrings, the tendons that run down the back of the legs
  • Weak or inflexible muscles along the spine
  • Weak stomach muscles

Not only back spasms, you can also trust on chiropractic for neck, leg, and arm pain treatment as well. Finding a chiropractor in your locality is not at all a problem if My Low Back Pain Relief is with you.
