I need to know what is the difference between CBD and Marinol? used to be free on Medi-Cal but now it’s super expensive. I don’t think it’s that great for pain. My doctor recommended cbd. I got arthritis at 24 so it’s advanced now because I’m 71, mainly in my feet and knees, the bones are deformed in my feet so I can barely walk . At 50 I got fibromyalgia so I’m in pain in my whole body. And what about Kratom ? CBD is too expensive . The difference between these three are not clear to me !

Injury relief: If you have recently suffered an injury and know chronic pain is going to be a part of your life for the foreseeable future, you might be looking for a natural way to find relief from that pain. Hemp CBD oil can help you obtain that relief from aches and pains from sports injuries, repetitive motion injuries, accident injuries, common back problems and much more.

What a wonderful article! Unfortunately not all CBD is created equal! You definitely want to do your research! I suffer from a long list of ailments including chronic pain, anxiety, arthritis and depression. Long story short, my prescriptions simply didn’t work. I stumbled upon CBD by a friend. I did my research about the company and they checked out perfectly! The hemp is organically grown and harvested in the US. The products are created by the CEO of the company in his ISO certified lab and triple tested by a third party lab for purity and potency. They currently use the CO2 extraction method. Big things are on the horizon! This company is still in prelaunch. The flavors are AMAZING! I ditched my meds and began my CBD journey on June 28, 2018 and the products have changed my life and I am forever grateful. I decided to partner with this company and I would LOVE to talk with you more about the company and our products, maybe even do a review of them?! Thanks for the well written article! Xoxo

CBD is a cannabinoid found in both cannabis and hemp. By using stringently controlled organic hemp – which only contains trace amounts of THC – we ensure that our lab here at Royal Queen Seeds can extract all of the CBD goodness, without any worry of THC contamination. RQS CBD Oil contains less than 0.2% THC, making impossible to get high with it, and legal in most EU countries.

A 2012 study reported that, “systemic and intrathecal administration of cannabidiol (CBD), a major nonpsychoactive component of marijuana, and its modified derivatives significantly suppress chronic inflammatory and neuropathic pain without causing apparent analgesic tolerance…These cannabinoids may represent a novel class of therapeutic agents for the treatment of chronic pain and other diseases…”

But it’s not just CBD that can lend a helping hand. “Chronic pain is a symptom of rheumatoid arthritis, and when it comes to chronic pain, we have 9,000 patient years of data showing that THC [the active ingredient in cannabis] effectively treats it,” says Jahan Marcu, PhD, the Chief Scientific Officer for Americans for Safe Access, an organization devoted to the legalization of cannabis for therapeutic use. “Cannabinoids stop the transmission of pain and decrease inflammation, and that’s very important for people with joint issues.” On a basic level, THC is anti-inflammatory and analgesic (it kills pain), and it’s also known to reduce the anxiety and depression that goes with diseases (especially ailments that are cause a loss of mobility like rheumatoid arthritis). Have you ever read about how smoking weed can cause seizure patients to relax? Based on similar physiological principles, people with chronic pain and stiff joints may find that their body naturally loosens when using marijuana.
Moreover, scientists at the Cajal Institute showed promising results in regards to CBD and Multiple Sclerosis. They used animal models and cell cultures to find that CBD reversed inflammatory responses; within only ten days, mice that were used in the study had superior motor skills and showed progression in their condition. To date, there have been well over 20,000 published scientific articles on cannabinoids and their related effects on all sorts of medical ailments.
I am in Santiago, Chile and have bought Cannabis oil here. It is my first time to try it. I am awaiting shipment from U.S. of CBD oil products. I am using the oil to ally my rather constant low level anxiety that sometimes goes near panic as well as chronic sleeplessness. I have been dealing with this challenge for many years without resorting to standard “Harmapheuticals”. It is my hope the oils will calm me and bring me sleep. I have been trying these local oils for past four days without too much in the way of calming effects. I am taking around 30ml of the oil without real positive results. Do you suppose I may have to go to dosage over 100ml a day to get results? I realize you can not give medical advice nor am I asking for it–but if you can give me general directions it would be very helpful. Thanks, Jack in Chile.
Type II diabetics (whose pancreas still functions) tend to have very high levels of insulin, but the liver is unable to use that insulin, so blood sugar stays high, and the pancreas eventually damages itself by trying to continually produce more and more insulin, eventually leading to organ failure if the diabetes is unmanaged. By lowering pancreatic insulin release, CBD may alleviate or prevent the progression of type II diabetes and blood sugar disorders. Cannabinoid antagonists such as CBD have been shown to reduce obesity, and not only do rodents given these antagonists eat less, but they also lose more weight than their reduced feeding can account for.
And of course, THC is what most recreational weed users are looking for, which is probably why botanists have figured out since the 1960’s how to increase the amount of THC from around 3% to 5% in the 1960s to as much as 28% in our current decade. So yes, it’s true that we’re not smoking the weed our parents smoked, and one draw on a typical joint these days would probably knock your mom on her ass.
I had a bad experience buying from Pure Kana. No confirmation email. No shipping confirmation. It took over 10 days for them to ship. And their oil tasted like it had been tainted with perfume. Not the taste I’ve come to know from other companies(the natural flavor). And it did not work. Also, conflicting info about them. First, I read they were located in LA, Ca, then UK owned, but was finally shipped from NJ. Just BEWARE.

Keep in mind, too, that CBD product companies use different CBD sources, extraction methods and production techniques – and not all resulting products are created equal. You'll have to do your own research to determine which companies you're willing to trust, Asquith says. Plus, how the products are packaged and consumed – be they in oils, creams or capsules – affect how they're absorbed in the body. Edibles, for example, are well-absorbed, while oils taken under the tongue are "baloney," Tishler says. And of course, salespeople at herb shops don't have the same mission, knowledge, training or oversight as physicians and pharmacists. "We have spent the last 100 years or so developing the pharmaceutical system because it works," Tishler says.

CBD & THC are just 2 of many cannabiniods that will be seen on certificates of analysis; CBN for example is known to treat insomnia due to it’s sedating qualities & the list of terpenes, is long & each one has it’s own specific medicinal value. There’s a tremendous amount of learning involved with finding the right CBD product as well as the individual doseage; it’s advised for all beginners to “start slow & low”.
If you’re anything like me and often have trouble falling asleep at night, you will definitely like CBD products. Being a CBD user for long time I have been taking CBD oil for Insomnia a long time I’ll say it has helped my sleep better. From what I know Cannabidiol a.k.a CBD is great relaxant that have helped many people, including me, sleep better. With dosage I always recommend to my friends to start with low, then see if it suits them and then work their way up.
i have many ailments that has resulted in disability and i am only 46 thus have little quality of life and i loath taking pills!! i take as few prescriptions as possible so relief is low and so low activity is how i manage – though i know isn’t healthy either – but i believe the more prescriptions you take the more sickness will be created. short of stem cell treatment (which hasn’t been developed as far as i know for my issues) CBD is giving me hope.

A review published in 2017 in the journal Frontiers in Pharmacology described how CBD may work to protect the hippocampus — the part of the brain responsible for several important functions, such as learning, memory and navigation — during times of stress, and may also help prevent brain-cell destruction that results from schizophrenia. Another 2017 review published in the journal Annals of Palliative Medicine summarized a handful of studies that suggest cannabis oils containing THC or CBD, or both, may help with chronic pain management, but the mechanism is unclear.
“The brain has these receptors that respond to endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that are naturally produced in the body and brain,” says Jerald Simmons, a neurologist at Houston’s Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Associates. “Some of the cannabinoids in the marijuana plant are very similar to the endocannabinoids in the brain, and they act on the same receptors.”
Some users speculate about appropriate dosages or methods of application—including whether or not a small amount of THC boosts CBD’s effects, or whether different methods of administration lead to quicker or more significant effects. Some CBD producers also claim that it has a cumulative effect, and so needs to be used regularly to produce a benefit. But Grant says it’s tough to say at this point exactly how people should (or shouldn’t) be using CBD.

Ajulemic acid (CT3, IP-751) (Figure 1), another synthetic dimethylheptyl analogue, was employed in a Phase II RCT in 21 subjects with improvement in peripheral neuropathic pain (Karst et al 2003) (Table 1). Part of its analgesic activity may relate to binding to intracellular peroxisome proliferator-activator receptor gamma (Liu et al 2003). Peak plasma concentrations have generally been attained in 1–2 hours, but with delays up to 4–5 hours is some subjects (Karst et al 2003). Debate surrounds the degree of psychoactivity associated with the drug (Dyson et al 2005). Current research is confined to the indication of interstitial cystitis.

People claim that cannabis oil can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, though evidence to back up these claims is often lacking. For example, according to Medical News Today, people use cannabis oil for conditions ranging from pain to acne; some even claim the oil can cure diseases like Alzheimer's and cancer. (But again, there is no clinical evidence to support these claims.)
I appreciate your efforts in writing this article & don’t mean to disparage you, but there’s so much information that goes into this discussion & people need to be prepared ahead of time. One very important note is to make sure that nothing in the CBD will be contraindicated with many prescription medications, especially for diabetes, hypertension, blood thinners & anti-platelets for example. If a company’s website says their formula is a “proprietary blend”, call before you buy, please!
